Dear Parent or Guardian:
I am your child's PE teacher for the upcoming school year. I am looking forward to preparing your child for an active and healthy lifestyle that will benefit them throughout their lifetime.
The Physical Education program will consist of a variety games and activities that will develop their physical fitness level and also teach them individual and team sports. These games and activities will also teach each child how to prepare for a healthy and active lifestyle that promotes lifetime fitness, leadership skills, cooperation and respect.
Your child is required to wear comfortable clothing, shorts, pants, or dresses with shorts underneath and gym shoes (sneakers) for PE class for safety reasons. No jewelry is allowed except for studded earrings. A form will be sent home for the day your child has PE. Please place it on your refrigerator. Your child must dress appropriately to participate in all PE class activities. A doctors’ excuse is needed if your child cannot participate in any PE class activity for any reason.
Your child's grade will be determined as follows:
*Appropriate Dress
*Participation and Effort
*Following PE Routines, Rules and Directions
*Respects and Participates Well Will Others
Grades for each grading period will be added together and divided by the number of grades for that grading period. A check mark equals a grade of 70- 100 and an x mark equals a grade of 69 and below.
Students are expected follow all class procedures and school rules upon entering the classroom and be respectful, kind and caring to their classmates and teacher.
