School-Parent Compact 2021-2022
It is the mission of Colleton County School District, in partnership with parents and community, to empower each child to achieve his/her fullest potential to become a lifelong learner and responsible citizen. Colleton County School District and the parents of students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I agree that this compact outlines how the parents, entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement.
As a school, Hendersonville Elementary School will:
- □ Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s Academic Achievement Standards.
- □ Hold parent-teacher conferences.
- □ Inform parents in writing (other than interims/report cards) of their child’s academic progress.
- □ Provide parents reasonable access to staff.
- □ Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and/or observe in their child’s classroom.
- □ Involve parents in the planning, review and improvement of the school’s parental involvement policy.
- □ Involve parents in the joint development of any school wide program plan.
- □ Hold an annual meeting to inform parents of the school’s participation in Title I, Part A programs
- □ Provide information to parents in an understandable and uniform format, including alternative formats upon the request of parents with disabilities, and to the extent practicable, in a language that parents can understand.
- □ Provide to parents information concerning Title I, Part A programs that includes a description and explanation of the school’s curriculum, how academic assessment is used to measure a student’s progress and the proficiency levels students are expected to meet.
- □ At the request of parents, provide opportunities for regular meetings to formulate suggestions and participate in decisions concerning the education of their children.
- □ Provide each parent an individual student report on their child’s performance on the State assessment in at least math, language arts and reading.
- □ Provide each parent timely notice when their child has been taught for four (4) or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified.

- □ Seek ways to involve parents in the school program
- □ Demonstrate professional behavior and a positive attitude
