"Meet Kylah McNeil, a vibrant 16-year-old from the charming town of Walterboro, South Carolina, who is flourishing in the heart of Orangeburg. Kylah is far from a typical teenager—she is a volleyball club team captain, a dance enthusiast, and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment.

For the past four years, Kylah has been actively involved in her community and surrounding areas by hosting anti-bullying events aimed at raising awareness, promoting self-esteem, and encouraging positive peer relationships. Her commitment to uplifting others extends beyond the school year.
During the summer months, Kylah hosts hygiene sessions in partnership with the local housing authority, providing young girls with essential hygiene products and guidance to help boost confidence and self-worth.

Year-round, Kylah continues her mission of encouragement by creating and selling her own self-affirmation calendars, which feature monthly affirmations designed to inspire youth—and even adults—to believe in themselves and embrace positivity.

Through her leadership, creativity, and dedication to service, Kylah McNeil exemplifies the power of young voices making a meaningful difference in their communities."

DEAR HES PARENTS,
We are excited to celebrate our Character Parade today at 1:00 PM on the bus loop. Our students are looking forward to showcasing their favorite book characters as part of our literacy celebration.

Parents and family members are welcome to attend and enjoy the parade as our students walk through the bus loop in their character costumes.

Please note the following important reminder:

Students may not leave with parents directly from the parade area.
If you plan to take your child home after the parade, you must sign them out through the Main Office.
This helps us ensure the safety and proper dismissal of all students.

Thank You, See you shortly

Dear HES parents,
We are excited to celebrate Read Across America Week, beginning this Monday! 📚 This special week is dedicated to encouraging a love of reading and celebrating the power of books to inspire imagination, curiosity, and learning. This year's theme is, " A Nation of Diverse Readers".
To make the week fun and engaging, we will have Spirit Days throughout the week. Students are invited to participate by dressing according to each day’s theme. Please see the Spirit Day schedule that is attached.

Participation is optional, but we encourage all students to join in the celebration as we promote literacy and the joy of reading across our school community and nation.

WE ARE BUZZ'ED about READING!!!!!

Congratulations to this week's “Tell Me Something Good” drawing winner Ms. Caitlin Risher from Forest Hills Elementary School.

Ms. Risher shared, "I have encouraged the students to try things we were serving that day because they kept passing it up. I gave them a great pep talk and told them it was really good and to just try it. A lot of the kids started getting it and actually enjoyed their meal, and said it was good!"

Congratulations to Ms. Risher and keep up the great work!
